Meet BEEMMS™

Whole-child wellness through connection and practice.

BEEMMS™ is Yogalittle’s whole-child wellness framework built around eight interconnected pillars, organized through six pathways: Breath, Energy, Emotion, Empowerment, Movement, Mindfulness, Meditation, and Sound. Through this proprietary blend of modalities, young people develop tools to understand their emotions, connect with their bodies, express their needs, and navigate everyday life with greater awareness and intention.

Connecting what we feel, understand, and do

Wellness grows through practice. BEEMMS™ connects what students notice in their bodies, understand about their emotions, and express through their actions and relationships.

Through breathing, movement, reflection, play, creative expression, and listening, students explore different ways to connect with themselves and others. They build awareness of their internal experiences and discover tools they can carry into everyday life.

Eight Pillars of Whole-Child Wellness

Breath
Explore intentional breathing to support grounding, awareness, and regulation.

Energy/Emotion
Recognize and name feelings, notice shifts in energy, and understand how emotions show up in the body and influence behavior.

Empowerment
Develop inner voice,, confidence, boundaries, self-trust, and the ability to make intentional choices.

Movement
Build body awareness and explore movement as a pathway to connection, expression, and regulation.

Mindfulness/Meditation
Practice attention, presence, and reflection while developing awareness of thoughts, feelings, and internal experiences.

Sound
Explore voice, rhythm, music, and intentional listening as tools for expression and connection.

Understanding Emotion. Developing Expression.

Emotional literacy is woven throughout BEEMMS™. Students practice recognizing and naming feelings, noticing how emotions show up in the body, communicating their needs, and exploring tools that help them respond with awareness.

Energy/Emotion provides a foundation for understanding the relationship between feelings, physical sensations, energy, thoughts, and behavior. The other pillars offer ways to work with those experiences through breath, movement, reflection, voice, and choice.

As students grow, this learning deepens into understanding emotional patterns, perspective, identity, and relationships. The intention is to help young people develop a thoughtful, compassionate relationship with what they feel.

BEEMMS™ in Practice

Implemented across cultures and generations spanning TK through Post Grad.

The BEEMMS™ framework and Tree of Life Curriculum have been used across countless school communities, afterschool programs and summer camps, bringing embodied wellness practices and social-emotional learning into students’ educational experiences.

This work has provided opportunities to adapt practices across developmental stages while maintaining a shared foundation of emotional literacy, mind-body awareness, connection, and reflection.

Honoring the Roots of the Work

BEEMMS™ draws from social-emotional learning, embodied learning, and the philosophical foundations of yoga.

Yoga’s emphasis on connection informs our attention to the relationship between mind and body. Its ethical and reflective traditions inform the values we explore, including compassion, integrity, balance, self-awareness, and intentional action.

These foundations come to life through accessible, developmentally appropriate experiences. Students explore how values can be felt, understood, and practiced in the ways they care for themselves and relate to others.

The Tree of Life Curriculum

A developmentally responsive TK–12 wellness curriculum powered by BEEMMS™.

The Tree of Life Curriculum brings BEEMMS™ into a cohesive journey of personal and social-emotional growth.

The tree serves as a visual and conceptual anchor, helping students understand how wellness develops from within and extends into everyday life.

Roots — Grounding
Foundational practices that support awareness, regulation, and belonging.

Trunk — Inner Strength
Values, identity, integrity, and the inner resources that support intentional choices.

Branches — Connection
The expression of those values through relationships, empathy, shared responsibility, and community.

Fruit — Contribution
The confidence, compassion, purpose, and leadership students work toward and carry into the world.

BEEMMS™ provides the pathways through which students experience and practice these concepts. Breath, emotional exploration, movement, mindfulness, empowerment, and sound connect the curriculum’s values with tangible learning experiences.

Learning That Grows With Them.

The framework remains consistent while its language, experiences, and depth of reflection develop alongside students.

TK–2
Students discover feelings and foundational values through stories, sensory play, movement, and familiar routines.

Grades 3–5
Students explore why values matter through reflection, peer conversations, creative expression, and collaborative activities.

Grades 6–8
Students apply learning to everyday challenges while developing emotional literacy, self-regulation, and relationship skills.

Grades 9–12
Students explore identity, decision-making, responsibility, and contribution through deeper inquiry and leadership opportunities.
